Why This Program?

In many rural parts of Jharkhand and India, women face limited opportunities for education and income. Most depend on daily wages or remain financially dependent on family members. This lack of independence creates cycles of poverty and inequality. The Swarojgar Silai Centre was started to break this cycle by giving women a skill that is practical, sustainable, and income generating.

What We Do

Skill Development: Hands on training in tailoring and garment making.
Entrepreneurship Pathways: Support to start small tailoring businesses or join cooperatives.
Employment Links: Connect women to local markets and shops for work opportunities.
Confidence Building: Create a safe environment where women gain not just skills, but also dignity and self-worth.

Why it Matters

In Jharkhand, women’s workforce participation was only 8.7% in 2017-18.
Rural India has seen progress with female participation raising to 41.5% by 2022-23.
Nationally, women’s workforce participation is 37.0% in 2023.
Skill training like tailoring can raise women’s income by 20-25%, giving them dignity and economic stability.
