Grace & Growth Tutorial Centre – A Competitive Learning
Spark Mind is our strategic response to the widening educational gap among underprivileged and first-generation learners in Jharkhand. Through the Grace & Growth Tutorial Centres, we provide structured academic support and exam-focused coaching for students in rural and tribal regions. These centres aim to equip children with the tools and confidence needed to succeed in their studies and aspire to greater dreams for their future.
Educational inequality continues to be a significant concern in Jharkhand. According to the ASER 2022 report, only 36.4% of rural Class 5 students in the state can read a Class 2-level text. More than half the children lack access to private tuition or academic support at home. The dropout rate at the secondary level is alarmingly high, crossing 23% (UDISE+ 2021–22). For students in remote and tribal areas, access to coaching for board exams or competitive entrance tests remains a distant dream. This underlines the need for accessible academic support systems tailored to marginalised communities.
The Grace & Growth Tutorial Centres operate as free or affordable after-school learning hubs in Ranchi and Bano, Jharkhand. The curriculum focuses on foundational subjects like Mathematics, Science, English, and General Knowledge. Special emphasis is placed on preparing students for Class 10 and 12 board examinations and various competitive entrance exams. Sessions are conducted by trained volunteers and local educators who understand the challenges faced by these students. The program also includes mock tests, study materials, and mentorship from achievers who have risen from similar backgrounds, encouraging students to aim higher and believe in their potential.
Spark Mind aims to increase board exam pass rates and reduce dropout by offering consistent academic reinforcement. The initiative also helps students qualify for scholarships and access higher education and government jobs. More than just academic results, Spark Mind fosters a mindset of discipline, ambition, and resilience. It creates a sense of purpose in children who otherwise face overwhelming odds and gives them the tools to change their futures.
Jharkhand’s education system faces systemic challenges, including teacher shortages, under-resourced schools, and wide learning gaps. Spark Mind’s community-based tutorial model works effectively because it complements school learning while being sensitive to the local context. This low-cost, high-impact approach ensures that even the most underserved children can benefit from structured, quality academic support close to home.
Spark Mind is more than just a tuition centre. It’s a movement of hope, preparation, and possibility. For every child who dares to dream beyond, this initiative serves as a catalyst for lifelong change. With each student we support, we come closer to a society where quality education is not a privilege, but a right for all.
